Beer Thank You for Lauter-Day Brewers

Salt Lake City-based homebrew club Lauter-Day Brewers (haha!) very generously assisted Boise's Edge Brewing head brewer Kerry Thomas during her recovery for severe burns a couple months ago. As a thank-you, the club is requesting donations of either bottled homebrew or off-the-shelf microbrew to package up and send to the Lauter-Day brewers. Please provide a bottle or two (12 or 22oz) to Scott at the next meeting. Please label your homebrew! Let's make this a great gift for our friends in SLC!

Good News! Idaho ABC Adopting Federal Standards for Beer Competitions

Butch Harbaugh, who runs the Rocky Mountain Homebrew Supply in Rigby, has said he spoke with ABC directly and was told they have adopted the federal regulations regarding homebrew competitions - meaning the transport to, sampling of and entry into competitions will be allowed as defined in federal ATF statute 27 section 25.206: "Beer made under ยง25.205 may be removed from the premises where made for personal or family use including use at organized affairs, exhibitions or competitions such as homemaker's contests, tastings or judging. Beer removed under this section may not be sold or offered for sale." Great News!

Brew at homebrewstuff, save 25%

Homebrewstuff is offering a 25% discount to any homebrewer willing to come to the store on a Saturday this summer and brew on-site. It's a great way to grow the hobby and get the club noticed. Brewers can bring their own systems or negotiate use of the 10-gal single-tier the store owns. Contact Cody at HBS for more: 208-375-2559.
